A significant event has occurred in the UK. According to Amway, the Department of Trade and Industry "petitions initiated civil court proceedings, which, if successful, could lead to the closing of each company's business operations in the UK."
As you may know, I received many complaints from Amway motivational fraud victims in Europe and traveled to London at my own expense a couple years ago. I met with the head of the Companies Investigation Division of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and his legal staff. The presentation included details of the method, manner and scope of the fraud and I left them a suitcase of documentation as well as local victim testimonials.
Long story short, Amway sponsoring and the tools fraud are for all intents and purposes closed in the UK right now and it may be permanent, per Amway's statement. This is truly "the shot heard around the world" as I would assume action now must be taken in virtually every nation they do business. What is most tragic is that this could have been completely avoided had Amway/Quixtar only listened to loyal IBO's like myself who reported the fraud and deception of the tool business many, many years ago. There is no joy in this and it saddens me that the company I once so strongly believed in chooses to do "the right thing" only after after being threatened with closure.
What happened to the foundational principles of character and integrity that Rich and Jay founded the business upon? Quixtar is still suing me and my current outstanding legal bill is over $15,000. I will soon be bankrupted again with these fees. I believe the crime I am guilty of is seeking to protect the distributor force that Amway and Quixtar have seemingly turned their back on. I will soon be crushed economically. If the corporation will not protect their own loyal IBO's in the US and other nations from predatory motivational groups, who will?
Wishing you well,
Eric Scheibeler
