Some young people working with Fred affirmed these financial representations or guarantees. One young Amway Diamond in his organization made this statement at seminars that were subsequently recorded and sold as a tape of the week:

“I didn’t get my kit until I was twenty four years old. I went full time in the business when I was twenty eight… ain’t had one dime of income other than Amway income …and it’s a pretty good deal."

This too is a completely fraudulent representation that will be born out by this individual’s tax returns.

Again, on tape E-227, we have Harteis make financial guarantees predicated upon the distributors buying into the system...

“What else do I get him ta do? (Someone in the audience answered.) Get him signed up on Tape of the Week, right there. Why? He needs the motivation. He needs, ta have the motivation. I can’t sit there and hold his hand all the time. But, if I can have him on tapes and enough books. See, here’s the thing. Books and tapes are slaves ta work for us when we’re not there. They work for us, when I can’t be there. I can’t motivate every person in my group. Now, if I spend enough time with you, and you and I together, I’ll guarantee, I’ll get ya Diamond. If all I do is spend time with you all day long, everyday, seven days a week, ain’t gonna take you long. You and I gonna have you goin’ Diamond fast.” - Fred Harteis E-227

Virtually all of the above representations and tactics are violations of Amway’s code of conduct. Amway has known of Harteis’ activities for years now and continues to look the other way even after receiving multiple complaints. Sadly, Harteis is one of literally hundreds of Amway/Quixtar Diamonds that appear to be currently perpetrating the same fraud here and in 83 foreign countries and territories. For the benefit of both domestic and international regulators, investigators and class action firms, here is a listing of 1,000 people who have qualified as Diamonds world wide:

Because it takes hundreds of Diamonds working in concert, along with Amway Senior Management, this appears to be a text book perfect case for RICO enforcement. The RICO laws were abused for a period but I have never seen a more perfect example of organized crime in all of history. This is far more coordinated than the Mafia ever had hoped to be and has profited in excess of twenty billion dollars to date.

This is anything but a victimless crime. Myself and another Emerald in Harteis’ organization were driven to bankruptcy. Here are some other testimonials. The FBI has all the originals with names. I have omitted the names here as both Amway and the Kingpin Diamonds seem to have no qualms about taking action against the victims who dare speak out. I asked 12 families that had been part of the Harteis organization in Amway to tell their stories, in their own words.

The aggregate loss just for these 12 families is well over $250,000. The aggregate loss for all of the good, honorable, hard working people that our organization brought into Amway is in the millions.
